The Dodge WC series of military transport vehicles was produced on a large scale by the American industry during the Second World War. The concept proved highly successful; alongside the famous ¼-ton Willys Jeep, the ¾-ton Dodge WC—often nicknamed the "Beep"—became one of the most widely manufactured vehicles for the American war effort. It played a vital role in meeting the U.S. Army's logistical requirements across various fronts. Among the many variants, the Dodge WC-54 "Ambulance" was one of the most common medical and rescue vehicles of the war. Thanks to its 4x4 drivetrain, it could navigate challenging terrain, while its specialized interior was designed to carry up to four stretchers or several wounded soldiers in a seated position—facilitating an effective link between the front lines and field hospitals in the rear.
