The early version was comparatively well-equipped. It featured an open driver's cab with a folding windscreen and a retractable steering wheel to allow the gun to rotate freely. It also boasted extensive stowage boxes, additional equipment, and large ammunition racks. Four retractable outriggers stabilized the vehicle during firing.
The later version was simplified to facilitate production and maintenance. Various details, such as stowage boxes, fenders, and equipment components, were omitted or modified. As a result, the vehicles appeared more basic and were more geared towards efficient wartime production, without altering their primary function.
Despite its open and only lightly protected design, the Morris C9/B was considered an effective anti-aircraft vehicle. Its mobility and powerful Bofors gun made it particularly valuable for protecting motorized units.
