The Mil Mi-28NE "Night Hunter" (NATO: Havoc-B) is the export version of the Russian Mi-28N. This two-seat attack helicopter is primarily designed for anti-tank operations, engaging ground targets, and providing support to ground forces, both by day and by night. Known operators include Algeria and Iraq.

The pilot and the weapons systems officer are seated in tandem within armored cockpits. Two turbine engines drive a five-bladed main rotor; the helicopter also features a distinctive X-shaped tail rotor.

Typical standard armament includes:

• A movable 30mm 2A42 autocannon mounted under the nose.
• Up to 16 Ataka-V anti-tank guided missiles.
• Unguided 80mm S-8 rockets or 122mm S-13 rockets.
• Optional Igla air-to-air guided missiles for self-defense.

Available equipment includes thermal imaging and TV-based targeting systems, a laser rangefinder, digital navigation, and multifunction displays. A radar unit mounted above the main rotor provides additional reconnaissance and target acquisition capabilities. The aircraft incorporates armor, self-protection systems, and design features intended to mitigate the risks of fire and the consequences of a crash, thereby enhancing overall survivability.
