This over 50-year-old American truck company enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality and appealing design of its products. In 1981, Daimler-Benz AG, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, one of the world's largest truck manufacturers, acquired the Freightliner Corporation. The company continued all activities under the original Freightliner name. Daimler-Benz also imported several models to Europe for demonstration purposes and for truck shows. All Freightliner trucks are based on a common technical design, and many are custom-built to customer specifications. The model represents a conventional FLC 12064T tractor unit with a 475 hp Cummins diesel engine and a 13-speed Fuller Roadranger transmission.
