Lockheed P-38 F/G Lightning 1/48

This World War II fighter was a daring design with two fuselages, each with a piston engine, and a central nacelle housing the cockpit and armament (machine guns and cannons in the nose).
Introduced in June 1941, the aircraft saw extensive service in the Pacific during World War II.
The F variant was produced from April 1942 and was fitted with pylons for 150-gallon drop tanks to enable longer bombing missions.
Later P-38Gs had more powerful engines and could carry larger 300-gallon drop tanks.
The P-38 was used for interceptor, dive bomber, area bombing, ground attack, night combat, photo reconnaissance, radar and visual pathfinding for bombers and evacuation missions, and extensively as a long-range escort fighter when equipped with drop tanks under the wings.
