The Boomerang was the only Australian-developed fighter aircraft to see combat in World War II.
Boomerangs defended Australia and were also deployed to New Guinea and other islands.
They were produced in three versions: the CA-12 Boomerang Mk.I, the CA-13 Boomerang Mk.II, and the CA-19 reconnaissance aircraft.
They were flown by five RAAF fighter squadrons and other units.
