The development of the Maus super-heavy tank was started in 1942 by Ferdinand Porsche.
As a result, two prototypes of this tank were built.
They were tested from 1944 to early 1945.
Series production of the Maus never started.
In April 1945, both prototypes were blown up as the Red Army approached the test site.
Nevertheless, one captured Maus was rebuilt.
Afterwards, it was transported for storage to the test site in Kubinka near Moscow, where it is now on display. .
