The Pz.Kpfw. 202(e) was the German designation for the captured British Daimler Dingo Scout Car Mk. I, one of the most successful light reconnaissance vehicles of the Second World War. This compact, fast, and highly maneuverable scout car was used by the British Army from 1939 onward and was characterized by its all-wheel drive, low profile, and high reliability. Numerous vehicles fell into the hands of the Wehrmacht in France in 1940 and later in North Africa and were subsequently used by German units.
The Wehrmacht primarily used the Dingo for reconnaissance, liaison, and courier duties. The vehicles were usually only re-licensed with German plates, Balkenkreuz markings, or minor technical modifications. Their excellent off-road capability, robust construction, and high mobility were particularly valued. The Pz.Kpfw. 202(e) is thus one of the best-known and most successful captured British vehicles in German service during the Second World War.
