The US infantry regiment of World War II was a formidable and adaptable force, capable of meeting the diverse and challenging conditions of combat across various theatres. These troops were the core of American ground operations, engaging in intense battles from the Normandy landings to the icy woods of the Ardennes.

During the Battle of the Bulge in 1944/45, one of the most severe confrontations of the European campaign, the infantry endured heavy losses as German forces mounted their last significant offensive on the Western Front. Despite the severe winter weather and the intensity of the German attack, these steadfast soldiers held their positions and eventually repelled the enemy, exemplifying the tenacity and fighting spirit that defined the American infantry throughout the conflict.
