The Magach 3 was a modernised M48A1/A2C/A3 tank.
Improvements included the installation of a British 105mm L7 gun (in place of the original 90mm gun), improved communications facilities, a 750hp Continental AVDS-1790-2A diesel engine mated to a CD-850-6 Allison automatic transmission, and a flat commander's cupola.
