The Trabant 601, the third and most-built model in the Trabant series, was manufactured from 1964 by the VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke in Zwickau. With over 2.8 million units produced, the Trabant 601 became a symbol of mobility in the former GDR. The body made of duroplast and the air-cooled two-cylinder two-stroke engine with its unmistakable soundscape made the Trabant unique.
