The Liut is an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) developed by Ukrainian engineers for combat operations in active conflict zones. First unveiled in 2023, the drone became a symbol of adaptive engineering and technological innovation in Ukraine during the full-scale Russian invasion.

The Liut drone is equipped in various configurations with either a PKT or MAG machine gun and is used for infantry fire support, engaging targets from cover, and long-range defense. The platform is remotely controlled, significantly reducing the risk to personnel in high-risk areas.

Its low profile minimizes its visibility, and its protected components enhance its survivability in combat. The drone is also used for reconnaissance, provoking fire, and precise attacks on enemy infantry.

Liut is one of the first ground combat drones to be deployed in series by the Ukrainian armed forces. Its use on the front lines demonstrates a new approach to warfare: minimizing human casualties while maximizing combat effectiveness.
