The Enok 5.4 is an armored, lightweight wheeled vehicle of the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), specifically designed for use in urban and asymmetric operational scenarios. A further development of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class chassis, it is manufactured by Armoured Car Systems (ACS) and, despite its compact dimensions, offers a high degree of protection, mobility, and flexibility. Particularly striking is the variant for the Military Police (Feldjäger) unit, which, as the Bundeswehr's military police, performs a wide range of tasks at home and abroad – from asset protection and traffic control to operations in multinational environments.
The Enok 5.4 in Feldjäger configuration features a protected passenger compartment with STANAG Level 2 protection against fire and fragmentation, as well as Level 2a/2b mine protection. It is designed for a crew of four soldiers, including the driver and commander. For special missions, the vehicle can also be equipped with a remote-controlled weapon station (e.g., FLW 100 with MG3 or MG5), which is operated from the interior.
The 5.4-ton vehicle is powered by a V6 diesel engine with approximately 185 hp and reaches a top speed of approximately 90 km/h with excellent off-road capability. Its range is approximately 700 km, making it ideal for longer patrols. Optional equipment for the military police version includes radios, blue light bars, signaling equipment, a megaphone, and additional mounts for traffic safety equipment. The distinctive military police logo is often also displayed above the windshield.
