Junkers Ju 88 C-6

The Ju 88 was a twin-engine, multi-role aircraft operated by the German Luftwaffe during World War II. Developed by Hugo Junkers’ company in the mid-1930s, it overcame initial technical issues—which plagued both its later development and early operational service—to become one of the war's most versatile combat aircraft. Its suitability for virtually every type of mission earned it the nickname "Jack-of-all-trades." Like several other Luftwaffe bombers, it was successfully deployed in a wide range of roles: as a bomber, dive-bomber, night fighter, torpedo bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, heavy fighter, and—in the final stages of the war—even as a flying bomb.
