The Heinkel He 111 P-1 was an early production version of the German Heinkel He 111 medium bomber and represented a significant step in the series' development. It was the first variant to feature the characteristic fully glazed nose section and powerful Daimler-Benz DB 601A-1 engines, resulting in marked improvements in speed, range, and flight characteristics compared to earlier versions. The aircraft carried a crew of five and could transport up to 2,000 kg of bombs in its internal bomb bay.

With a top speed of approximately 390 km/h and a range of up to 2,400 km, the He 111 P-1 was among the most advanced European bombers in the period immediately preceding World War II. Its defensive armament consisted of several 7.92 mm MG 15s, which were, however, soon deemed too weak against modern fighter aircraft.

The He 111 P-1 saw service during the Polish campaign in 1939 and later in the Western campaign of 1940. Since the required DB 601 engines were reserved primarily for the production of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Bf 110, manufacturing of the P-series was soon halted and replaced by the He 111 H, powered by Junkers Jumo 211 engines. Despite its relatively short production run, the P-1 formed the technical foundation for the later—and far more widely used—H-versions of the He 111.
