The AB 41 was an armored reconnaissance vehicle used by Italian troops from 1939 onwards to monitor the Italian colonies in North Africa. It was lightly armored, capable of speeds of almost 80 km/h, and equipped with a rotating turret and a 20 mm cannon, similar to that of the L6/40. Two 7.62 mm machine guns in the hull provided self-defense. It featured a tire pressure control system that adjusted the tire contact patch to the terrain. The Wehrmacht also used the AB 41, for example, in the Balkans.
