Most of these chassis were fitted with enclosed bodies for 8-man fire brigade transports (LLG).
The equipment also included ladders and fire hoses.
By the end of 1944, approximately 3,850 LLGs had been produced on all chassis types. Vehicles on Daimler-Benz chassis were extremely durable and reliable.
From 1943 onward, L1500S LLG fire engines were redesignated LF 8. They were used by German fire departments for several years after the war.
