The T-55 retained some of the key features of the World War II T-34, which was simple in design, effective, economical to manufacture, and easy to repair on the battlefield.
Due to the characteristics of the T-55, it was accepted into service not only by the Warsaw Pact, but also by some African and Asian countries.
It was developed from the T-54 by introducing an improved engine, more space for ammunition and a more effective NBC protection system.
It is armed with a 100 mm cannon and equipped with effective and heavy armor protection, which increased its total weight to 35 tons.
It has been used in many operational areas for several decades and has become one of the most widely used armored vehicles in military history.
