The Panzerfähre (armoured ferry) was an amphibious prime mover based on the chassis of a Panzer IV Ausf. F.
When coupled with another Panzerfähre, it formed a floating platform with a payload of 24 tons.
This allowed armored vehicles to be transported across bodies of water such as rivers or lakes.
However, due to the advent of heavier tanks during its development, the Panzerfähre never entered mass production because of its insufficient payload capacity.
