The Leopard 2 A4 is a German third-generation main battle tank that entered series production in 1985 and was gradually delivered to the armed forces. It is equipped with a 120 mm Rheinmetall Rh120-L44 smoothbore gun capable of firing various types of ammunition, including armor-piercing, fin-stabilized sabot projectiles, and multi-purpose high-explosive shells.
Thanks to its advanced fire control system, the Leopard 2 A4 boasts a high first-shot hit probability compared to other third-generation tanks. It is in service with the armed forces of various countries and has seen action in, among other roles, German peacekeeping missions in Kosovo, Turkish military operations in Syria, and most recently, the war in Ukraine.
