This lightweight yet robust modern field gun was versatile enough for troops fighting in the most inhospitable terrain. It could be towed by Army Land Rovers or carried as a cargo load beneath larger British helicopters.
This new weapon, which entered service with the British Army in 1976, was intended to have greater range and lethality than its predecessor while maintaining the unit's mobility.
Produced in large numbers, these guns were widely exported and performed excellently in the Falklands War.
