- Panzerkampfwagen 38(t) Ausführung E/F
The 38(t) was designed and put into production as the LT vz. 38 for the Czechoslovakian army.
However, before any could be delivered, Germany occupied Czechoslovakia.
Recognising the tank's cap value, they ordered the continuation of production of the original 150 units and renamed it the 38(t), with (t) indicating its Czech origin.
It served as a Wehrmacht battle tank at the beginning of the Second World War, from the first operations in Poland to Operation Barbarossa, the invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941.
It was equipped with a 3.7cm cannon with 90 rounds, a coaxial 7.92mm MG37 (t) machine gun and another MG37 at the front left of the vehicle.
A top speed of 42 km/h was squeezed out of the 6-cylinder engine.
The Ausf.E/F 38(t) variants had a double frontal armour thickness of 50 mm and 30 mm on the hull and turret sides.
In the period from November 1940 to October 1941, 525 examples were produced.
