The main part of the German Wehrmacht's fleet during the Second World War consisted of 3-ton trucks. One of the most numerous of them was the KHD S3000, which was manufactured at the Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz plant (before 1938 and after 1945 – Magirus) in Ulm since 1940. This truck was with 4 cyl. Deutz diesel engine and only had rear wheel drive.
Until the end of the war, KHD S3000 trucks were used everywhere in all German arms - on the Soviet-German front, in North Africa, Italy, France. Off-road, not all powered vehicles showed poor cross-country ability, so a large number of KHD S3000s were produced as mule half-tracks.
A total of 10684 KHD S3000 trucks were produced between 1940 and 1944.
