The Light Armored Scout Cars were a series of light armored vehicles with four-wheel drive. The Sd.Kfz. 221 was armed with a single 7.92mm Machine Gun 13, which was replaced by a Machine Gun 34 from 1938. It had a crew of two (driver and commander).
In 1936, ten SdKfz 221s, equipped with a larger tropical cooler, were delivered to China.
