The Standard N Model 1936/38 industrial tractor was a version of the proven Fordson Standard N developed specifically for commercial use. While the basic design was originally intended for agriculture, this variant was adapted for operations in factories, warehouses, railway stations, ports, and construction sites. Thanks to its robust construction and simple engineering, the tractor proved to be extremely reliable and versatile, particularly for towing heavy trailers and handling internal material transport.

The Standard N was powered by a four-cylinder gasoline engine producing around 25 hp, with power transmitted to the rear wheels via a manual gearbox. Its straightforward design ensured low maintenance requirements and made the tractor a valued workhorse in both civilian and military sectors. With the outbreak of World War II, numerous vehicles were pressed into service for transport and supply tasks—such as at airfields, in supply depots, and for servicing military installations.
