Fire engines can be divided into two main categories: multi-purpose vehicles (tank trucks and pump trucks) and specialty vehicles (elevating work platforms, fire ladders, and hose trucks). The AC-40-137A, manufactured by the Pryluky Fire Equipment Plant, is a typical example of a fire engine tanker. This vehicle transports firefighters, equipment, water, and extinguishing agents. It can fight fires with water from its built-in tank, open water sources, or the water mains. The vehicle's powerful pump delivers up to 40 liters of water per second, supplemented by a 2,500-liter tank. A notable specialized vehicle is the AR-2 hose truck, designed for the efficient mechanical transport of fire hoses to fire sites. Based on a KamAZ off-road chassis, the AR-2 features a solid metal body with side and rear doors mounted on a custom-built frame. The body contains two separate compartments—front for firefighting equipment and rear for fire hoses—and features adjustable posts for creating different-sized storage compartments.
