The Opel Blitz medium-duty truck formed the backbone of the German Wehrmacht’s logistics and transport system during the Second World War.
It was produced in large numbers and distinguished itself through its flexibility and robustness in service, qualities further enhanced by the twin-wheel rear axle, which ensured a higher payload capacity under all operating conditions.
It was designed for ease of manufacture, repair and maintenance and was successfully deployed by the Wehrmacht on all major fronts, from North Africa to Russia, demonstrating the solidity of its construction.
It was produced in numerous configurations and versions, including the high-performance 4x4 variant, which could deliver good performance even in difficult terrain.
