This combat vehicle was developed by the German company MAN in 1941-42 as the main tank of the Wehrmacht. The combat debut of the Panthers was the Battle of Kursk, and then tanks of this type fought in all European theaters of war. The Panther is considered the best German tank of World War II. She was armed with a 75-mm long-barreled Rheinmetall-Borsig gun. Only the armor of the Soviet IS-2 heavy tanks and the American M26 Pershing could resist the Panther shells.
