The T-34 was a Soviet-made medium tank. It was built from 1940 to 1958 and used by the Red Army mainly in the German-Soviet War.
Machine-building Plant No. 183 was transferred from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv to Nizhny Tagil in the Urals. After merging with the Uralvagonzavod plant, Ural Tank Factory No. 183 was established there.
