T-72 M1

The T-72 is a Soviet battle tank that first went into production in 1971.
Around 20,000 T-72 tanks were built.
The T-72A version, introduced in 1979, is considered a second-generation battle tank.
The export version T-72M was developed from this with older TPN-1-49-23 night vision devices.
From 1980, this version was delivered to the GDR, Poland and Czechoslovakia, among others, and was also built under license in the latter two states as the T-72G.
From 1982, the T-72M1 version was built with a modified turret with spaced armor, additional 16 mm armor plate on the hull bow and other improvements.
