The Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. Tiger I is undoubtedly one of the most famous tanks of World War II.
It was developed to provide the Wehrmacht's Panzer divisions with a heavily armored and heavily armed tank that could be deployed alongside the widely used Panzer III and Panzer IV medium tanks, which were no longer effective against enemy tanks.
The first versions saw combat in late 1942 on the Eastern Front near Leningrad and on the African Front during the Tunisian Campaign in the early months of 1943.
Its main armament consisted of the famous and deadly long-barreled 88 mm KwK 36 L/56 anti-tank gun.
Mounted in the turret and protected by a heavy 120 mm mantlet, it was capable of penetrating the armor of any enemy vehicle of the time, even at long range.
