The Panzer III was a medium battle tank that became the standard tank of Panzer divisions at the outbreak of World War II.
However, with the advent of more heavily armored and better armed enemy tanks, the Panzer III's role became secondary to that of the Panzer IV and production was finally stopped in 1943.
Based on tanks with guns, a number of specialized command tanks with long-range radios were built, one of which was the Panzerbefehlswagen III Ausf.J.
As its name suggests, it was based on the Ausf.J hull, of which 2616 were built between March 1941 and July 1942.
