Germany built a total of 223 Panzer IV Ausf.E.
Like its predecessors, the 21-ton Ausf.E variant was equipped with a short-barreled 7.5 cm KwK37 L/24 cannon in the turret.
Significant improvements to this variant include a new cupola design, a turret storage box, a redesigned driver's sight, and improved armor protection.
The armor upgrade includes an additional 30 mm of bolt-on armor plate in addition to the existing 50 mm front armor.
The Ausf. E was widely used in the German campaigns in the Balkans, North Africa, and Russia.
