Plastic model kit for an Australian M113A1 with a T-50 turret in 1980s configuration
The T50 turret was selected as the standard turret for Australian M113s. Almost all Australian Army M113A1s were eventually equipped with these turrets. The turret was originally armed with two L3A3 machine guns, but some were later fitted with an M2 Browning and an M1919A3. M113A1s with T50 turrets arrived in South Vietnam in August 1968. Further modifications were made in the 1980s to extend their service life.
