Armament consisted of a 76.2 mm gun mounted in an open-topped, rotating turret.
The hull featured sloped armor, which was kept thin to avoid hindering maneuverability.
Mounting brackets were fitted to the turret and hull to further facilitate the attachment of armor plates.
Approximately 5,000 M10s were produced between September 1942 and December 1943 and saw service in North Africa and Western Europe.
