The Nashorn tank destroyer, originally called the Hornisse, was a German tank destroyer of World War II.
It was developed in 1942 as an interim solution, using a light, turretless chassis based on the Panzer III and Panzer IV and equipped with the 8.8 cm Pak 43 anti-tank gun.
Despite its light armor and high profile, it was capable of penetrating the frontal armor of all Allied tanks at long range.
