Opel Blitz Feuerwehr (1:24)

The Opel Blitz project was developed with the aim of producing a robust and reliable commercial vehicle on a large scale that could be used for various applications and uses. Opel began producing the first trucks, characterized by a typical American layout, at its Rüsselsheim plant in the early 1930s. Thus begins the story of a great success that continued to develop until the mid-1970s. Due to its structural characteristics, the Opel Blitz was also used by the Wehrmacht during World War II, in both the 4x2 and 4x4 versions.

Its notoriety, however, was consolidated by the great commercial success it enjoyed in civilian use. After the war, the Opel Blitz was also indispensable in supporting Germany's dealers, artisans and industrialists in their reconstruction activities. Numerous equipped versions were also produced, including the fire brigade version.
