Starting in 1953, BMW manufactured the Isetta under a license agreement, resulting in several variants.
Of particular note is the BMW Isetta 250 version, which came onto the market in 1955 and is still considered a typical product of the German economic miracle.
The highlight of the idiosyncratic Isetta was the steering column, which pivoted via a universal joint when the front door was opened.
The "cute little car" was powered by a 250 cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine throttled to 12 hp, which allowed a top speed of 85 km/h.
