Fritz Lang’s 1927 film classic “Metropolis” returns in impressive fashion with this highly detailed reproduction of the “Machine-Man.” The figure is based on the iconic design by Walter Schulze-Mittendorf and is considered one of the most recognizable creations in film history.

The “Machine-Man” – a central character of the silent film – was portrayed by German actress Brigitte Helm, both in its robotic form (“Gynoid”) and as its human counterpart. In the film, the scientist Rotwang creates the artificial human in the likeness of his deceased beloved Hel.

As one of the earliest and most influential robots in cinema, the Machine-Man remains a milestone and a major source of inspiration for depictions in film, television, and modern technology.
