The Iveco Manticore (MTV – Medium Tactical Vehicle) is the Dutch Armed Forces' new 4×4 multi-purpose vehicle, gradually replacing older models such as the Mercedes-Benz 290GD, Land Rover Defender, and YPR-765. With its modular design, the Manticore is suitable for a wide range of mission profiles, including patrols, casualty transport, logistics, and military police duties.

Powered by a 6.7-liter turbodiesel engine with 207 kW (280 hp) and permanent all-wheel drive, the vehicle reaches a top speed of 90 km/h and offers a payload of up to 2,000 kg. The modular armor allows for adaptable protection against ballistic threats and mines. Optionally, the Manticore can be equipped with remotely controlled weapon stations (RCWS), CBRN protection systems, and other equipment.

A total of 1,185 vehicles are to be delivered by 2026 in five main variants: hardtop, softtop, pickup, casualty transport, and military police. The Manticore represents a significant step in the modernization of Dutch land mobility, offering increased protection, transport, and operational capabilities for a wide range of operations.
