The Hatsuyuki was the third ship of the Fubuki class of “Special Type” destroyers.
Although a revolutionary design, it also suffered from a weak hull.
This became clear when the bow of the Hatsuyuki was torn off by the force of the waves during a typhoon in 1935.
This incident caused the Japanese Navy to reinforce its destroyers.
The Hatsuyuki was later used in the Battle of Malaya and the Battle of the Sunda Strait.
This model shows the ship with its additional anti-aircraft armament.
