HMS Sheffield was a Type 42 guided missile destroyer and was commissioned on February 16, 1975.
She was part of Task Force 317, deployed to the Falkland Islands during the Falklands War.
She was hit and severely damaged by an air-launched Exocet anti-ship missile from an Argentine Super-Étendard aircraft on May 4, 1982, and sank on May 10, 1982.
