Sd.Kfz.167 Sturmgeschütz IV

The Sturmgeschütz IV was developed on the chassis of the Panzer IV to provide the German Wehrmacht with an assault gun that could be used effectively as a tank destroyer in the later stages of World War II.
The Stug IV was equipped with a Stuk40 75 mm L/48, installed in a casemate and protected by an armor mantlet, capable of penetrating the armor of enemy armored vehicles.
It was assigned to units in the early months of 1944 and often supplemented and replaced the Stug III assault gun, whose production had suddenly declined in 1943 due to increasingly frequent Allied bomber raids on German industrial areas.
