The Space Launch System (SLS) is NASA's newest rocket and was developed for space exploration. The SLS is considered the most powerful rocket ever built. Only one mission has taken place so far: Artemis I, an uncrewed orbital flight around the Moon. Artemis II, the first crewed mission, is scheduled to launch in 2026 and will orbit the Moon, before Artemis III is planned to return humanity to the lunar surface in 2027.
