Introductory Feature: It’s Not a Tank Without Tracks
Among the many types of armored fighting vehicles, only those equipped with tracks are referred to as "tanks." When people think of tanks, they think of tracks—a feature that draws significant attention from observers. In the past, even serious modelers who built every tank themselves had to manually assemble exactly 200 identical track links. While it was somewhat disappointing to be limited to the kit's standard flexible poly-tracks, simply swapping them out—without modifying the kit itself—could completely transform the vehicle's appearance. This paved the way for the commercial release of Model Kasten’s aftermarket tracks. In short, tracks are crucial to tanks. For readers of this magazine, the realistic assembly and painting of tracks is of paramount importance. This issue focuses specifically on that subject.
