Vehicle Profile 124 takes you along to the last major British logistics and command post exercise, "Rhino Charge 2004," which was conducted as the final major maneuver of British Forces Germany. The exercise area encompassed the Lower Saxon districts of Schaumburg, Hameln-Pyrmont, Minden-Lübbecke, Rinteln, the Hanover region, and Hildesheim.
Approximately 3,000 soldiers participated in the exercise, including units of the 1st (UK) Armoured Division Headquarters and Signal Regiment, the 20th and 7th Armoured Brigade Headquarters and Signal Squadrons, and the Brigade Headquarters of the Danish Reaction Brigade (DRB). Other participating units included, among others... Elements of the 102nd Logistics Brigade, the 3rd Regiment Army Air Corps, the Joint Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Regiment (JNBCR), as well as units of the Royal Engineers, Royal Artillery, and Royal Logistic Corps participated. The exercise scenario depicted a conflict in which the fictional country of Amstel occupied the province of Westerburg, prompting NATO forces under the command of the 1st (UK) Armoured Division to intervene. The objective of the exercise was to train command, planning, and logistics procedures for the conventional deployment of British and allied troops.
