The 7.5 cm PaK 40 anti-tank gun entered service in early 1941 and became the standard anti-tank gun of the German Wehrmacht.
Although less powerful than the better known '88', it was used on all fronts with excellent results.
A light and easy-to-use weapon, it weighed only 1500 kg and could penetrate a 70 mm plate from a distance of 2000 meters.
Slightly modified, it was also used on tank destroyers such as the Marder, the Stug III and the Hetzer.
