The twin-engine Vautour was one of the successes of French postwar industry.
It was produced for the French Air Force as an all-weather fighter and in a bomber version.
Israel purchased all-weather fighters and also a single-seat fighter-bomber version, which the French Air Force did not use.
The Vautour fighter-bombers were particularly used in the Six-Day War against their Arab neighbors and even achieved several aerial victories.
