Dornier Do 335 Pfeil

The Dornier Do 335 "Pfeil" (Arrow) was a heavy fighter built by Dornier during World War II. The "Pfeil's" flight performance was far superior to that of other twin-engine designs; this was due to its unique "push-pull" configuration and the significantly lower drag resulting from the tandem arrangement of the two engines. The Luftwaffe pushed for the aircraft's rapid entry into service, but due to delays in engine deliveries, only a few units were delivered before the war ended.
