Brewster F2A Buffalo

The Brewster F2A Buffalo is considered perhaps the worst US fighter aircraft of World War II, as it demonstrated no superiority whatsoever in combat against Japanese fighters such as the A6M Zero and the Ki-43 Hayabusa. By the end of 1942, almost all F2A aircraft had been destroyed. On the other hand, some European air forces achieved success with the Buffalo: Finnish pilots reported shooting down 496 Soviet aircraft while suffering the remarkably low loss of only 19 of their own Buffaloes.
